Fish and Chips with Black Pepper Sauce?

Black pepper sauce Last night, we went for a family dinner at a newly open cafe, here at Sungai Merab. Actually, that was my second visit to this cafe. Last time, I ordered something Eastern and it turned out to be a not-so-good one. I don’t mean to ‘Sit in a basket and lift myself up (masuk bakul, angkat sendiri)’, but honestly, I can cook better than that.

As a positive and open-minded person, I said to myself:

Just give them another chance.

So, I ordered something Western; Rib-eye steak. My wife tried the Fish and Chips. My expectation is very low, and all I can say is the steak is still under my ‘low expectation’ level. It’s dry, overcooked, not tender as it should be and the sauce is so-so.

Guess what they serve with Fish and Chips? Black pepper sauce! I never tried this combination before, so I just give it a go. And it just don’t go together.

My review for fish and chips with black pepper sauce:

It’s a no-no.

At least for my wife and me.

Recipe: Fluffy Golden Scrambled Egg

A few days ago, I tried to learn how to make crepes by myself. It turned out to be a disaster one, so I won’t post it here until I make an eatable one.

Anyway, if you ever make crepes, you should know that it only requires the white part of the egg. Because I’m such a good person who don’t like to waste foods, I turn the egg yolk into this simple yet very fluffy and delicious egg recipe I’ve ever made: The Fluffy Golden Scrambled Egg.

Stranger: I’m hungry. Need something delicious, fast and cheap.

Me: Try my Fluffy Golden Scrambled Egg. You’ll cook it again and again!

fluffy-scrambled-eggs

Ingredients

  • Egg Yolks
  • Milk
  • Parsley
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • White Pepper
  • Black Pepper

Let’s Start Cooking!

  1. Begin by beating the egg yolks, milk, parsley, salt and white pepper in a bowl for about 30 seconds.
  2. Heat up your pan and brown the butter.
  3. Pour in the mixture and jig your pan back and forth while stirring the mixture rapidly for about 30 seconds.
  4. Put it on your serving plate immediately to avoid overcooked eggs. Crack the black pepper on it.

Notes

Work very fast because:

  • you don’t want the eggs to be overcooked. Overcooked eggs won’t have the fluffy taste.
  • you are hungry.
