Last night, we went for a family dinner at a newly open cafe, here at Sungai Merab. Actually, that was my second visit to this cafe. Last time, I ordered something Eastern and it turned out to be a not-so-good one. I don’t mean to ‘Sit in a basket and lift myself up (masuk bakul, angkat sendiri)’, but honestly, I can cook better than that.
As a positive and open-minded person, I said to myself:
Just give them another chance.
So, I ordered something Western; Rib-eye steak. My wife tried the Fish and Chips. My expectation is very low, and all I can say is the steak is still under my ‘low expectation’ level. It’s dry, overcooked, not tender as it should be and the sauce is so-so.
Guess what they serve with Fish and Chips? Black pepper sauce! I never tried this combination before, so I just give it a go. And it just don’t go together.
My review for fish and chips with black pepper sauce:
It’s a no-no.
At least for my wife and me.
